A Quiz for Alumni only.
The first original questionWhat represents the logo picture (in French "blazon"/ coat of arms) close to our  university name? The first one to reply will get a free T-Shirt  It was Solved ! It is the Coat of Arms of the French village Sorbon (Named after Robert) in the French Ardennes.

Second Question about this Coat of Arms (Free Casquette)
What is this Coat of Arms ?
Discovered, after 6 months, by a Swiss Student....! It is the Coat of Arms of La Trimouille (picture taken on the facade of the Mairie (City Hall).

Third Question: Robert de Sorbon created a college, which became  later "La Sorbonne". At the beginning it was a college and it had another important official function. What was this function ? A "maudit anglais" found it. it was an ecclesiastic tribunal, the second in importance after Rome

4th Question
(difficult as you alumni are so good unsolved for 3 months).  France had in the pacific ocean  a "condominion" ( i.e. shared sovereignty) with the UK called Nouvelles Hebrides/New Hebrides. Since independence it is named Vanuatu. France has still in continental Europe a rare condominium with a sovereign State. It is not Andorra, which is, as you all know, a "co-principalty". What is this still active condominion ?  The answer : The "Ile des faisans" in the Bidassoa river is a condominium of France and Spain. Bravo Richard Beldyck!

5th Double  Question:
(Even more difficult ) The winner will win a cap-casquette from de Sorbon..

French Politics and Religion.

1) France is seperated from the Catholic church with the notable exception of two provinces. Which ones and for what reasons ? (relatively easy).

2) Another area (not a province) is also, by treaty, a perpetual religious place of France. When the religious congregations were expelled from France in 1902 under Emile Combes the  monks of this area stayed. Name this place and what is famous about it ? (very difficult).
